A Before Masks of Nyarlathotep?
We are pleased to announce the publication of Farce Macabre, a great adventure for the 7th edition of Call of Cthulhu, set in Egypt in the 1920s. This scenario can be played completely independently, or as a unofficial prequel to one of the most legendary Call of Cthulhu campaigns, The Masks of Nyarlathotep.
Taking place over two intense days at Shepeard's Hotel in Cairo two weeks after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, players will be drawn into a series of events, like an inexorable spiral that will lead them... This will be an opportunity to meet historical figures like the archaeologist Howard Carter or the novelist Agatha Christie herself, but also to find old acquaintances for those who played The Masks of Nyarlathotep.
Farce Macabre is a love song dedicated to Call of Cthulhu , signed by an admirer not only of the literary work of Lovecraft and his followers, but of the role-playing game itself. Álex de la Iglesia, in his interviews and even in his film work, has made his passion for the game of Chaosium clear on more than one occasion. He has used his years of experience as a writer and gamer to create a memorable story that unfolds at a breakneck pace.
